Feb 24, 2020 Mac users have recently begun to run into an issue that prevents them from using MacOS effectively: When they try to turn their Macs on, they get a message that says, “A critical software update. I had the same exact 'critical update' problem. I think I'm unable to update because I migrated my settings over from an old iMac, and the network interface isn't set up properly. So entering my wifi key doesn't make any difference because the network settings are incorrect. There's no way to get into network settings from this screen.
I had macOS Catalina, and one day after restarting I was greeted with the screen saying “A critical software update is required for your mac” and I can’t use it without updating it (I cannot bypass the screen there is no option for exit/close)
When I click update it fails to install the critical update.
I am able to boot to safe mode successfully but touch bar, sound, camera and other stuff don’t work
I have tried:
• Reseting SMC and NVRAM
• Erasing my disk and re-installing macOS Catalina (⌘ + R) and macOS Sierra(shift+option+⌘ + R) after installing shows the same screen and again fails.
•Connecting to internet via LAN, WiFI, personal hotspot (all of these work in safe mode but still fails to install in normal mode)
• Also tried to install macOS Mojave form usb, also shows me the same screen
Is there anything else I should try it seems like a software problem right?
Apple service center in my country wants $900+ to replace te entire bottom case of my mac. And I would rather but a new mac instead of paying 900
